[Untitled] edit

Hello, I think the articel should be updated because of recent events. In the last week, LAB has surprisingly run into a severe crises and faces bancuptcy. I am a German native speaker and have updated the German wikipedia, but my English is not good enough to update this article. I have got all my information from the internet editions of the two major Bolivian newspapers El Deber (Santa Cruz) and La Razón (La Paz) (see: www.eldeber.com.bo an www.la-razon.com). Here are the facts:

At the begin of February 2006 the pilots of LAB surprisingly started a general strike for not having received salaries for months, grinding all operations to a halt and leaving thousands of passengers stranded. After 9 days the government intervened and put LAB under a provisional 90 days forced state administration to get LAB flying again. The state administrator discovered irregularities in the accountency and has publicly anounced, that LAB has failed to fulfil payments for its leased aircraft, so Capital Aviation Group has already seized its two Boeing 727-200s leased to LAB in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Alike, Pegasus Aviation wants to reclaim its two Boeing 767-300s leased to LAB for arears of about 25 million US-Dollars; a claim has been filed in Miami, FL. The court´s decision is scheduled for March, 10. Two LAB aircraft (a leased 767 and a 737) are stranded in Caracas and Rio de Janeiro with minor technical damages, wich LAB can´t afford to repair, which leaves LAB with only 7 operational aircraft. Furthermore, LAB has failed to pay its dues to the IATA and was excludes from IATA´s ticket booking and clearing systems. Finally, LAB has failed to pay the obligatory contributions for its workers to the state pension fund, which is threating to seize the 7 remaining planes. By beginning of march, only a rudimentary service is offered, and only because the state provisonally pays the salaries and the fuel needed for the operations. Its not yet clear, if LAB can be rehabilitaded or has to be closed.

Please help by integrating these information into the article, BenZin 15:40, 2 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Because of this LAB is not currently flying to Madrid, Spain." According to the experiences I had this summer, NONE of their flights is actually happening as announced (all the planes are delayed if not totally canceled). It should rather say the compagny has become unreliable (but I don't know if this respects the "chart of neutrality" imposed by wikipedia though..)

Brochure copy edit

The part about services, giving descriptions of the cities to which this company flies/flew, was like a bad brochure and unsalvageable. I removed it all except the locations -- if people want to know about the individual cities, there are links. Accounting4Taste 23:50, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:LABlogo.PNG edit

Image:LABlogo.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:02, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

History edit

Here is a fully archived history page of LAB http://web.archive.org/web/20070109023821/www.labairlines.com.bo/Lab_Sa/mv_historia_eng_l.asp WhisperToMe (talk) 01:45, 27 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup tag edit

I've placed a cleanup tag at the top of the page because the article has duplicated entries for its destinations. It is of no encyclopedic contents (actually, it's of no use at all) to summarise them by decade, and they should be listed in a sigle section named “Destinations”.--Jetstreamer (talk) 22:41, 10 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

LAB still operating edit

I have been communicating with LAB and they still operate 4 Boeing 727 airplanes. 24 May 2012. 130.76.32.199 (talk) 17:17, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

No, the LAB is not currently operating, in fact, it is proceeding with its judicial auction this year. 186.121.194.195 (talk) 22:52, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
