The length of the branch is given as 1.5 miles (2.4 km). But that can't be right: from the grid squares on an OS map, it can clearly be seen that even as the crow flies, Penpontbren to Llangurig is over twice that distance, even excluding the additional half a mile to the west of Llangurig.

Elsewhere in the article, the distance from Llanidloes to Penpontbren is given as 1.5 miles, and that does look about right. My guess is that this length has been erroneously transcribed.

Can anyone give the true length, either from a source or by measuring it in GIS?
