Confused

In the section 'Attitudes' what does the sentence, "Controlling for age LATs appear to be somewhat more liberal than other relationship categories for issues that directly affect them, for example about the effect of independence in relationships" actually mean? Am I missing something or is it a bit of a tangle?

Remarkable

Based on the Wikipedia piece and the linked journal article (Roseneil, 2006), LAT may signify a change in social organization that is both substantial and unnoticed. I am very interested in having dialogs with others who find LAT as interesting as I do. I would also be grateful for citations from both scholarly and popular sources.
