Talk:Live birth (human)

Work Plan for this page Osmosis Medical Education Fellow - Wiki Edit Course June 2020 edit

This article is well written and has reliable sources, but this article is terminology heavy. I would like to update the terminology based on the 2018-2020 ACOG and SMFM guidelines. I would like to make this page a one-stop-shop for the reader who would like to know what to expect when delivering. 1. Update definition and terminology - adding gestational timelines

2. Updating references - with ACOG, SMFM, ACPED, CDC, and WHO

3. What goes on the birth certificate (maybe an image of a birth certificate template)

4. Possibly create a section that discusses the diseases/congenital issues that can lead to perinatal death (ie. anencephaly, potter sequence, oligohydramnios, etc.).

5. Add Images from textbooks to illustrate stages of labor, fetal position, and different removal instruments (forceps, vacuum, episiotomy)

6. Develop the last paragraph more explaining what is considered viable gestation ToniLJ 04:14, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Toni LJ
