Restored to a list of lists

edit

I've restored this article to a list of lists. Hundreds of names were added to this list, almost all copied directly from other lists, e.g. List of Jewish American biologists and physicians, List of Jewish American chemists, List of Jewish American cartoonists), thus violating WP:COPYVIO and WP:SUBARTICLE. Most of the items added here were also not cited, violating WP:V and often WP:BLP - indeed, any inline citations came from the already existing lists that these insertions were copied from. Creating a giant list out many individual list articles is not helpful. Jayjg (talk) 03:50, 29 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

"of Polish-Jewish descent"

edit

"of Polish-Jewish descent" Whether someone is Catholic, or Protestan, or Muslim. What the meaning? In Poland Jews lived together peacefully alongside Christians and Muslims since the 10th century and they are POLEs. In the English Wikipedia, however, the Jewish religion must always be shown, the other religions not and respect, even if the great, great, great grandparents had something to do with the Jewish faith and had been Catholic for ages or only had one ancestor (100 years ago) of Jewish origin. Isn't that important for you? Is an American with a Christian religion a European or an American, with a Hindu religion an Indian or an American citizen? According to your logic, must still be Indian or European. Then please call the 12 million Americans of Polish origin in Wikipedia as Poles because they had Polish ancestors! Why not do this when the American Wikipedia labels the Jewish religion as Jewish nationality at every step, even if someone has adopted the Jewish religion by marriage or of their own free will. Is that science? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.4.48.130 (talk) 12:46, 10 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
