Talk:List of wiki based websites

When I first stumbled uppon wikipedia, I thought it was the greatest invention online since ICQ. Later on I have found that eventhough wikipedia contains an aboundance of information, certain websites which are themselves wikibased tend to go a lot more in detail on a particular topic as well as contain a greater degree of accuracy.

Wiki websites themselves, such a wiki on psychology or a wiki on how to use front page, contain a lot more information that is more useful and more reliable than wikipedia on it's own. Another advantage of specific wiki's is that they have their own servers. They are not dependent on one central server or one organization. As a result there is a lot more diversification should technical dificulties of bancrupsy shut down an individual organization.

A specific wiki that deals on a specific topic has the added advantage of information that is focused. It attracts more expert contributions which increase ctrafic and further drive upwards the wiki's knowledge base.
