Sunlight

Does anybody know about a Madonna song called "Sunlight"? Sounds like it's been done at the "Ray Of Light" album period. Cheers, AC

Yeah got it, it's fab. post your email address and i'll sent it to ya!
More than likely that song is "Sunlight" by DJ Sammy, not Madonna. False rumors are saying that it is Madonna.

Cleanup

I put the {{cleanup}} tag back on the page. Please do not remove it without reading the Wikipedia:Cleanup page first. --Ardonik 21:04, 2004 Aug 5 (UTC)

Removed .bmp format pictures per Wikipedia request due to size --Eurotrance03

  • Oh, you didn't have to remove them just because they were BMPs--you could always convert them to smaller file formats and re-upload. If you've figured out which images to keep and which should go, I'd be glad to do the conversion for you (go Linux!) once you've posted the list of files here. --Ardonik 05:49, 2004 Aug 6 (UTC)

Mentions of Released material

Mentions of obscure, but officially released songs have already begun to creep in. Those more properly belong listed on the Madonna page instead. Examples include "Cosmic Climb", and "Crimes Of Passion".

Obscure released tracks with Madonna backing vocals like "Tell Me" could go on the main Madonna page or the Nick Kamen page instead etc...

The purpose of this entry is mainly to document unreleased material.

I think it's quite vital to add in "Tell Me" and other tracks like so, because not many people are aware that they are released, and it's much harder to find the info, cause alot of people would assume its "unreleased." "Tell Me" goes perfect with this, theres a fanmade edit that has been circulating for years that excludes all of Kamen's vocals. Many believes will believe its a true Madonna unreleased song. If they want to learn more info about it, where are they going to find it? --71.230.105.10 (talk) 03:38, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

comment from cleanup

Update: the article has grown, but it has not improved. It's haphazard, disorganized, and unstandardized, containing just enough bold text to be unreadable. I gave up on trying to improve it after adding the first caption and realizing the sheer scope of such a project. I've never seem so many BMP files — without descriptions, copyright information, or even evidence of relevance — in a single article. (I left a message on the talk page of the user responsible.) The combined article and images are larger in size than the Wikipedia:Votes for deletion page. Someone removed the {{cleanup}} tag in the process of making their "improvements"; I have restored the tag, and I'll keep it on the article until one of the contributors finally reads this page and understands what cleanup means.
I don't know what it should be named, which information needs to be merged where, and what needs to go, but if any article needs cleaning up, it's this one. --Ardonik 21:06, 2004 Aug 5 (UTC)

Sidewalk Talk

The dance mix of sidewalk talk is avaliable on the jellybean 'rocks the house' CD. It says in the comments that it is unavaliable. I also used to have the 12" single - released in 1986. I know the jellybean album is difficult to get hold of & mine is a little old. I'm not showing off - just saying that it is avaliable.

response..... The entry refers to Madonna's original demo on lead vocal, not the commercially released versions with Catherine Bucchanan that you refer to which are found on the 12" single and the "Rocks The House" album. On the released versions Madonna is only the backing vocalist.

There is a compilation titled "Living In Oblivion: The 80's Greatest Hits - Volume 3" that includes "Sidewalk Talk" with Madonna's lead/backing vocals. Schwartzwolf (talk) 21:11, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Skip

"Don't You Know" is not a demo of "Pretender"

when it starts to talk about this:....Pre-Warner Madonna demos of "Stay" and "Pretender" have already been issued on the indie 1997 album "Pre-Madonna" as the songs "Stay 1981" and "Don't You Know"......that would be incorrect. "Stay '81" & "Don't You Know" would be demos of "Stay". Combine the 2 demos & edit some lyrics out....and we get the "Stay" that we've come to know & love.

Wow

I just wanted to say, great job on this page. The research is very detailed, comprehensive, and carefully cited and there's a ton of detail for such an incredibly obscure topic. Good job! Deco 20:18, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Has "Your Honesty" originated from the "American Life" sessions?

I've always thougt that "Your Honesty" was a left off from the "Bedtime Stories" sessions... since it was written with Dallas Austin and Colin Wolfe.... If I'm right it was advertised this way on the sticker that came with the French double-pack containing "American Life" + "Remixed and revisited" EP... --84.222.111.223 21:54, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

From what I know and according to various Madonna fansites, the song was a leftover from the Bedtime Story sessions. This site has some info on the song. -- Underneath-it-All 22:17, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

This article needs to be SERIOUSLY cleaned up

The page is completely cluttered. Some of the sentences sound like they belong in here (Talk). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.215.124.243 (talk) 21:43, 7 December 2006 (UTC).

The "rain tapes"

There is no actual title for these recording session tapes, because 'Rain' was the first track on this tape, people (including Bruce Baron) decided to name it "The Rain Tapes." I edited this tidbit in there. --Whoopiedoo 23:11, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

The "Bad Girl" information needs to be corrected. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.230.104.163 (talk) 00:49, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

tidying up this page

this page is way too long - what do people think about moving false rumours/alternative song titles to other pages, so this articles deals soley with its title??

also, there seems to be a lot of entries of earlier demos of released songs (either leaked demos or mentioned by previosu producers) - i woudl think that nearly every song ever recrded would have earlier demos that are more likely than not a bit different ... unless there is a substantial difference (such as adding a new co-writer or producer) these early demo references shodul not be included on this page.

what do people think??

"Think Of Me" (You Can Dance)

"LATTE" - wrong title (name)!

"Latte" is the wrong title of the HC outtake, the right title is PALA TUTE. look at mad-eyes.net —Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.112.91.66 (talk) 10:29, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

We don't know the title of the song. It leaked as "Latte" (My sources call it "Latte" as well), Pala Tute is a logical title but no reliable source has claimed that's the title... it's possible and likely that the song doesn't have a formal title. But I can tell you that this song has always been labelled 'LATTE' 173.178.90.12 (talk) 05:25, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

"Cook Fuck" Removal

The Beats Within article [2] states that the only reason the song was registered, was because it aired on network television. I don't even think there's even an actual recording of the song. Also, most importantly, the song wasn't even conceived during the Music era. This entry should be moved to new section, since it was written and conceived during the "Girlie Show Tour". --Whoopiedoo (talk) 21:59, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Agreed. JKW111 (talk) 22:14, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

"Sources"

A large number of the sources refer to things streaming on Madonna's Official website. None of these links actually work, and appear suspicious in any event. These will all need to be replaced by proper verifiable sources. JKW111 (talk) 01:59, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

"Alone Again"

This Rick Nowels track is from the Ray of Light session, not Music. In a recent Idolator interview [3], Rick states he and Madonna worked on 9 songs in April of 1997. Alone Again is the 7th song, along with Little Star, To Have and Not to Hold, Power of Goodbye, Gone Gone Gone, Revenge, and Like a Flower. Thus leaving 2 more unheard of songs co-written by Rick Nowels. 69.141.188.179 (talk) 02:10, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Mysore Smile

The song "Mysore Smile" is listed under the Music album sessions. On his SoundCloud stream, William Orbit has uploaded the song, which appears to be a demo or alternate mix of "Cyber-Raga". The melody and lyrics of "Mysore Smile" are very similar to "Cyber-Raga", if not the same, while the production is different. MsigDK (talk) 17:36, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

Move discussion in progress

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:List of unreleased ABBA songs which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 19:45, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

"Queen" ?

Isn't an unreleased song called Queen that appeared on a 25 tracks leak shortly before the album Rebel Heart in 2015 ? I think it should be added here as it hasn't been officially released... yet !

What happened to the 'officially commissioned unreleased mixes' section?

There used to be a 'officially commissioned unreleased mixes section'? Where'd it go? I always liked that section! Cheers Chris
