Title edit
Looking pretty good, Ptcamn. Re the title though, given that a few of these (particularly the latter colonial-era ones) may not have been specifically called a tlatoani, maybe the title needs amending? To what, I'm not sure, however. Also- a minor quibble: if we're going to make the city the focus, perhaps it should be Mexico-Tenochtitlan (hyphenated)...? --cjllw ʘ TALK 03:25, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- It's true that some of the later ones weren't tlatoque, but I don't have a problem with including them anyway — List of English monarchs includes Oliver Cromwell, despite not being a king. Still, I guess it couldn't hurt to move it to a more it to more a generic title List of rulers of Mexico Tenochtitlan.
- I'd thought Mexico-Tenochtitlan was more common unhyphenated than not, but checking Google Books now it seems like the hyphenated form is more common. So List of rulers of Mexico-Tenochtitlan? --Ptcamn 04:22, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I suppose so, though personally I find the "List of..of" repetition awkward. It seems there's no particular standard for this, Category:Lists of monarchs has a bunch of these, but also others along the lines of List of Foo rulers or even Foo/Fooian rulers. I note that although the Lists guideline suggests List of..." is generally required, there are argued cases where it may be omitted. Anyways - how about List of Mexico-Tenochtitlan rulers, would that be sufficiently unambiguous? List of Aztec rulers would be ambiguous given other rulers of provinces/cities, while List of Aztec emperors might not describe the colonial successors.--cjllw ʘ TALK 03:58, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- List of Mexico-Tenochtitlan rulers has the advantage of matching the Nahuatl: they're referred to as tlatoani tenochtitlan (lit. "tlatoani at Tenochtitlan") rather than itlatocauh tenochtitlan ("tlatoani of Tenochtitlan").
- List of Tenochca rulers is another possibility. --Ptcamn 06:05, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

- BTW- the Huey tlatoani article prob needs revising and expansion to be more on the office itself, to distinguish it more from this list of office holders.--cjllw ʘ TALK 09:27, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
