List of the largest evangelical churchesList of the largest Protestant church buildingsWP:PRECISE by WP:NATURALDISAMBIGUATION to distingush from List of the largest Protestant denominations. Cf. Church (building). Clearly includes premises beyond what's commonly referred to as Evangelical, but also Protestant in a broader sense. PPEMES (talk) 17:31, 31 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Just want to say issues with my not understanding the scope and the inaccuracy of this article (based on the previous revision) was what led me to create List of the largest evangelical church auditoriums and remove the obvious misinformation after a failed AFD attempt. HandsomeBoy (talk) 18:28, 31 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Strong oppose - wait, what?? Total rescoping of the article. Churches are measured by members or worshipers or attendees, not by the physical size of the buildings that the church meets in. Red Slash 19:43, 2 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
If so, what about List of the largest Evangelical Protestant denominations for WP:PRECISE reasons? PPEMES (talk) 19:47, 2 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
I'm asking a serious, sincere question: are you aware of what a church is? It is a group of people who regularly assemble in a specific place in order to worship God. Denominations are groups of like-minded churches from different parts of the world. Red Slash 17:58, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment. Why is "the" in there in the first place? It's completely unnecessary and not our usual practice. See Category:Lists of churches. -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:07, 4 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. It does not appear that the weekly attendance listed in this article reflects the number of seats in the building. Rather, it is more likely the number of people who attend services held in the building over the course of a week. A congregation able to fill 10,000 seats that holds ten services per week will have as many people come through as a congregation able to fill 20,000 seats that holds five services per week. bd2412 T 03:08, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
What about "denominations", then? PPEMES (talk) 13:55, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

List of the largest evangelical churchesList of largest evangelical denominations – "The" was opposed but without conclusion above. So was the fact that not all entries involved self-define as "churches". Indeed not confined to "megachurches", individual church buildings or other such entites, as oddly asserted above. • Oppose Per Red Slash's comment above. This would be a total rescoping of this article (albeit in a different way than in the previously proposed move). I doubt whether any of the churches listed in this article would be properly described as "denominations". (And yes, this article is intended to be confined to megachurches. The text makes that clear. The article was also originally called List of the largest evangelical megachurches, before being boldly moved to the current title in Aug 2017.) • Oppose as proposed. Are you thinking of wikt:congregations? Red Slash 23:36, 12 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - different scopes. JohnThorne (talk) 00:56, 13 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Seldom counted ... edit

In the data accuracy section the statement was made the attendance is seldom counted.

I added a citation needed on that statement, wanting to know where that statement came from.

In several churches I have attended there is one of the ushers at the door with a "click counter" (see People counter and search result URL below) counting people as they enter the building.
