UK non-submission

In this edit, I revised the section about the UK to make the text more neutral. The UK is a predominately English-speaking country; it is not all that remarkable if the country opts not to submit a film for consideration in the Best Foreign Language category. Hence I deleted from the article descriptions of this move as "highly unusual" and so forth. In fact, it is usual for the UK not to submit a film for consideration in this category. (The UK did not make such a submission for the 2007 or 2006 awards.) I saw one of the films, Seachd, and did not like it very much. That's just my opinion, but remember that the point of this submission process is to identify films from around the world that are outstanding, potentially among the best non-English-language films of the year. Why is it surprising if the BAFTA committee, on viewing these two films, thought something along the lines of "These films aren't bad, they're enjoyable to watch and competently made, but neither of them is outstanding, or anything close to being among the best films of the year from all over the world." From a neutral point of view, this is not much of a controversy. I shortened the paragraph in question a bit, but I think it can be edited down even more. For one thing, the article still says that both films "received positive reviews at home" but I don't see any supporting citation. I know that at present, IMDb has no external reviews at all listed for Calon Gaeth. Also, I removed from the article something about the committee chair going on vacation -- this was not supported by the reference indicated. --Mathew5000 (talk) 08:48, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

The name "Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" is used here. Should it be left that way, or updated to "North Macedonia"? I don't think that North Macedonia ever actually used the FYROM name for itself. Now, I know that North Macedonia was not called that back when the film was released, but does that matter?
