Christopher Columbus (1451-1506), Portuguese

this is a list of sea captains, not a list of military sea captains! If that's what you want, then create that page. (RG 23:04, 22 February 2006 (UTC))Reply

Merge from Captain (nautical) edit

I merged in two lists that had sprung up in the Captain (nautical) article. The above post makes me wonder if there might be some opposition to this. If so, please let me know at my talk page and I'm sure we can work something out. Cheers. HausTalk 20:21, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

deletion? edit

list of naval commanders was deleted here, should this page be deleted too? PDBailey (talk) 22:24, 17 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

rename edit

Okay, so it looks like the decision was to keep, and maybe allow for commanders to be on the list, does the article need a new name? PDBailey (talk) 02:13, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I reckon that the name is ok for now, and we can add in commanders. However we should consider how the list might develop. How it might be divided or restructured in the future. What extra columns would be useful ClemMcGann (talk) 02:26, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
It does require renameing as the current title allows for the likes of Fyodor Konyukhov, Charlie Barr & Charles J. Moore Richard Phillips (captain) & Sig Hansen. Please, at the very least, consider List of military sea captains. Exit2DOS CtrlAltDel 00:23, 13 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Famoius sea captains edit

Research is a funny thing. I discovered the USA had by far more naval heros than the rest of Europe put together. What a long history they must have. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.154.95.97 (talk) 16:49, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hilarious, isn't it? Some bloke who was a pilot in New York harbour... notable enough to be included. Captain Cook? Not so much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 164.39.33.70 (talk) 16:54, 4 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
