Chennai largest city in South India?

Why was Chennai given as the largest city in South India (at the top of the page)? I've corrected it to Bangalore which is the third largest city in India and has a population nearly twice that of Chennai. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.192.134.152 (talk) 18:19, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Where do these definitions come from?

They seem similar to Cultural Zones of India, and even more like Zonal Council. Perhaps it should be merged into one of them? Anyway, without any sources this article is liable to be deleted. Batternut (talk) 20:59, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
