Edit war

I'm inclined to agree with Kyle C Haight. TTN says it can be adequately covered in the main article yet undertakes no effort to start up a discussion on how to proceed. Simply blanking and redirecting is not the way to go. Please stop blanking the page so some constructive work can be done.--Fogeltje (talk) 20:34, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Citations

I think it would be useful to start making episode citations for the facts named with the characters.--Fogeltje (talk) 11:47, 26 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've currently protected several pages, including this one, for three days in response to edit wars over non-free image use. Please try to resolve these issues through discussion and the dispute resolution process. Relevant discussion at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content#Edit-warring and elsewhere; please participate there instead of risking further page locks and user blocks. – Luna Santin (talk) 03:36, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image removals

edit

Having per-character images on lists such as this has been deprecated for a long time now. Wikipedia:NFC#Non-free_image_use_in_list_articles was created in part to outline current practice in this regard, and to clarify Wikipedia's handling of Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria #3 and #8. This list is out of compliance with the guideline and policy and needs to have the images removed. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:15, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Agreeed, obviously. HiDrNick! 17:04, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Criteria #3 is adhered to, They didn't shoot promo pictures of recurring characters, let alone group photos of recurring characters and it is a Low resolution screen cap, both of these facts meet #3A and 3B. As for #8 "Significance", learning who is who is the point of the article. To quote "its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic". Seeing who it is is much better than giving a 2 paragraph description of the person (A picture is worth a thousand words) and if these were individual pages this wouldn't be a problem. If they were made into seperat page then people would be complaining about notability. Dr. Stantz (talk) 14:46, 3 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Article after article after article akin to this one has had images removed. 23 fair use images on this article can not be justified as "minimal" usage. The argument that since their are no group photos, it's ok to break our policies and guidelines is simply not acceptable. The images in the article must be trimmed in accordance with Wikipedia:NFC#Non-free_image_use_in_list_articles. I recommend trimming to only the top 3-4 most important recurring characters. If this isn't done, somebody not familiar with the series will do it. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:00, 20 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

With no discussion for two months, I'm removing the images again per policy and guideline. The indiscriminate use of per character images in lists such as this is not supported. See similar discussion at Talk:Supporting_Harry_Potter_characters#Overuse_of_fair_use_images and Talk:List_of_James_Bond_henchmen_in_Die_Another_Day#Fair_use_image_removal (and observe that fair use images remain removed or tightly limited on those two articles). --Hammersoft (talk) 19:05, 13 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
