Reigate war memorial

edit

Reigate has another war memorial in Church Walk, the entrance road to the parish church cemetery. I know nothing about it (except that it exists and is missing from the article) so I'm not going to add anything, but if someone does have any info and/or a decent picture I think it should be included. @Bagunceiro: Can you at least supply a photograph? Currently not easy to do. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 09:25, 13 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Murgatroyd49, 'fraid not: I'm on the other side of the world now. I did, however, find a few online references, of which https://www.warmemorialsonline.org.uk/memorial/187202&ved=2ahUKEwjcxoHNkJ7uAhUED7kGHenfDNMQFjALegQIEBAB&usg=AOvVaw24z9mXIhag4qP9W7YfLl_S&cshid=1610720360617 the best. In fact, I see the first photo there has a creative commons license so that could be used. It's quite a good picture. Bagunceiro (talk) 14:28, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

It's from the geograph project, may already be on Commons, I'll have a search. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 16:17, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
This is not a war memorial but a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery feature, according to the War Memorial website. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 16:24, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Whitely Village

edit

@14GTR: Are you sure the statue is copper and not bronze? The former seems unlikely. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 15:26, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

The Historic England listing document for the monument, quoting Pevsner, states that it is copper and that is all I have to go on and so is the source I've used. Hope that's clear.14GTR (talk) 16:53, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 16:59, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
