this article is absolutly baseless ,as it somehow puts every bengai worth mentioning as calcuttans.The list of this folly is endless.How rajendra prasad is from calcutta-he only studied in presidency college for sometimes and stayed in Hindu hostel,the city is neither his birthplace nor is the place where he worked,again how khudiram bose ,tarashankar is from kolkata.One can go on and on and scrutinise the list and remove many of the people as kolkata was neither their birthplace nor their place of work.But my point is what is the criterion for inclusion in the list that is not clear enough ,which should be cleared. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.194.32.55 (talk) 07:08, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I agree somewhat with the previous comment. This article seems to include names of people who have written one or two books as famous novelists or poets, and misses many more notable people. I have tried to give it a more reasonable look with a major edit. Hattima (talk) 13:05, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
