For anyone interested, the adding to this list is happening soon  :) User:SatuSuro 12:26, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sequence of entry - station name, then district or LGA - later links SatuSuro 07:23, 2 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

A few I couldn't completely crosscheck, but appear to exist:

  • [Murchison West] : Bungabandy, Chilominey, Illino, Mary Spring, Mount View, Seven Mile
  • [Gascoyne]: Irrida, Jeeaila Downs
  • [Pilbara]: Ailsa Downs

Ones I'm less certain about (I think all of these are Pilbara, not sure though):

  • Deepdene, Diomenor, Limestone, Marramba, Meentheena, Meilga, Nunyerry, Point Lockyer, Range, Split Rock, The Range, Urandy Creek, Wamie, Warrie, Wogoola, [Pilbara:] Pilga, Poonda, Talawana, Warramboo, Woodbrook

Yeah issues re some of those- will check travellers atlas soon for them SatuSuro 03:02, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The travellers atlas Place Name Index does not show the above listed homesteads except for Mount View in the Shire of Northampton. Tennis expert (talk) 17:42, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ah, that would explain it - thanks for checking :) Orderinchaos 23:03, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Crossed out means they've been found and added to the main list. Orderinchaos 02:35, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Lost links edit

I was sure in the earlier format there were some linked stations/leases - they seemed to have got lost - any clues ? SatuSuro 05:22, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Updates edit

Chilimony is a farm just North of Northhampton, it also is a merino stud. Mary Springs is also near Northampton

Limestone exists it was owned by the Edwards family in 1977 and is near Marble Bar. The following also exist in the Pilbara, although some may have been abandoned or absorbed into other stations: Pilga, Poonda, Talawana, Warramboo and Woodbrook. These are shown on a map in Jenny Hardies book, NOR'WESTERS of the Pilbara breed.

Thanks very much for that (and your excellent photos/contribs elsewhere! Been seeing them the last few days on my watchlist) I have added those ones to the list plus Mount View. Orderinchaos 02:34, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Note edit

Wrote to the department asking if we could get a comprehensive list. The department said no such list was made available to the public, but directed me to this page :P The response states in part: "I note that Wikipedia does have a list of pastoral leases in WA but this list is not current and Landgate can creates a map of pastoral stations in WA that you may be able to purchase." Orderinchaos 11:39, 8 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I'm not too sure if this is of any use but it appears to have a list of stations/missions/reserves and thier file numbers: http://www.sro.wa.gov.au/pdfs/cpaf-stations.pdf

File not found is the response I'm getting for this link. Hughesdarren (talk) 12:52, 10 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Elephant in the room edit

It is now clear that a separate article is needed from this list due to:

Pastoral lease changes due 2015

Official standard version:

Other versions:

Stakeholders/issues/Names:

  • PGA
  • surfers
  • MIning cos who own leases
  • pastoralists
  • wa government
  • native title
  • DPAW
  • ? possibly the largest single range land management unit area in the world?
  • sheep
  • cattle
  • heritage
  • feral animals
  • feral animal control
  • Brendon Grylls
  • Pastoral Lands Board
  • Department of Lands aka Landgate
  • Range lands
  • Pastoral industry
  • Access to pastoral land/leases
  • Land overstocking
  • Range land management
  • Conservation
  • Heritage
  • Minsters with related portfolios
  • Nats and pastoral leases
  • Libs and pastoral leases

Just a start, if anyone was interested... it needs doing...

But - history - leave it for another article - complex issues, royal commisions and a real jumble of lease changes, name changes etc.
