Slingshot

edit

I'm not sure about this question, so I thought I'd post here instead of changing anything. A lot of the #1 singles (before they changed the rule) were actually multiple tracks, like Madonna's "Holiday" and "Lucky Star" are two different songs that are listed together as going to #1 on the dance chart. So on your list that shows up as "Holiday" / "Lucky Star", which I get. The #1 for August 20, 1983 is different though...isn't it? Slingshot's medley of "Do It Again" and "Billie Jean" isn't the same as the Madonna example, because it's really one song blended / mashed / medley-ed together by taking two existing songs and combining them. I've got the CD Billboard Top Dance Hits 1983 and it lists this track as "Do It Again Medley with Billie Jean". The only other song I can think of like this is that horrid Will to Power "Baby I Love Your Way/Freebird Medley", which went to #1 on the Hot 100, but that's another page that doesn't exist here on wikipedia. I added a note on the Slingshot page, but I wasn't sure about this song. And I hope any of the wiki-links I've added to these AWESOME list pages aren't rubbing anyone the wrong way; I love dance music, and I am just trying to make these lists even better. Thanks. So are you asking whether it should be shown differently on the page? If so, I've changed it, as I found an image of the record: [1] . At least this way a page can be made for the medley. - eo (talk) 11:02, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I guess that is what I was asking, although I was pretty long-winded about it. I didn't know for sure, and I didn't want to change something on a page you spent a lot of time on without being 100%. That song is sort of an exception to the "rule" about multiple tracks charting together, huh? Since it's not really an EP or an A-side/B-side, but the way it was listed before you might think otherwise. Anyway, thanks for finding the proof, glad I didn't mess anything up, and keep up the good work! Zephyrnthesky (talk) 23:40, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
