Why was this article moved?

This article was moved from "List of museums in San Diego County" to "List of museums in the Southern Border Region (California)". That was done without discussion or consensus, and clearly there were some objections, since another editor promptly removed this article from the "see also" section of San Diego County, California. I also think it would be better to maintain separate lists for San Diego County and Imperial County - the "Southern Border Region (California)" is an abstraction, without much grounding in common usage. Imperial County only has one singular listing. Not every listing of California museums has an entire county by itself. Maile66 (talk) 02:01, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

So San Diego County has to give up its listing, so that Imperial County doesn't feel left out? I don't think that is appropriate. If Imperial County doesn't have enough museums for a list, then just describe its museum in the main article. --MelanieN (talk) 02:08, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

I have to agree with Melanie here. Change seems trivial although the reasoning seems logical. I would suggest moving the article back to its original title, and creating a subsection to include the lone IC museum, with a brief explanation. Not likely the current title would be easily found or recognizable in an internet search engine.--JOJ ^Hutton 03:30, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

I'm also with Melanie here. I deleted the link because if the list is about the "Southern Border Region", then its scope is broader than the county. I'd be fine restoring this page to "List of museums in SD County" and returning its link to the county article. FYI, I also deleted this link from the city of San Diego article, for similar reasons. Seems like we are approaching consensus here, although we should not make any change until after the holidays, since many people are Away From Computer right now. If the consensus is to move this article back to List of museums in San Diego County, California we will need administrator help, since List of museums in San Diego County, California already exists as a redirect to this page. --MelanieN (talk) 16:46, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
