Column title

For clarity, I think the "Missing Date" column title should be renamed to "Victim Disappearance Date". AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 05:27, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

Would it be better to move the column next to the victim section? The table is already crammed and more text might make it look messier. --Gourami^(?) 17:54, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

how are the countries selected?

I am sure that there are convictions without a body in other countries. In Jamaica Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel has been convicted of the murder of Clive Williams. The body has not bee recovered.

Inclusion Criteria

Every murder conviction without a body is rare enough, and carries strongs enough implications about the state of the legal process, to be noteworthy. Not every one of them are notable enough to need its own article. They are all notable enough to warrant inclusion in this list.

I see that every entry that does not have its own article is getting pruned, for reasons like "trimmed redlink, if subject is notable, please create cited article first" and "Since only cases with articles can be added, the article will always remain incomplete". Where does it say that only entries with their own articles can be added? I tried to look up where it says this, but all I could find was WP:LSC, which indicates that these entries met the inclusion criteria, and WP:CRIME, which just says that these entries aren't notable enough to have their own article.

If, like the edit summary says, "only cases with articles can be added" then how do things like List of Pokémon characters work? And why does it say at the top of WP:N that those notability guidelines "do not limit the content of an article or list."?

One could quibble ...

... with the inclusion of 'Acid Bath' killer John George Haigh. Sadly, because his is precisely the sort of case for which this page is intended, and because Haigh deliberately destroyed the bodies of his victims because he mistakenly believed it made murder impossible to prove. However: up to 1967 in England and Wales, an indictment for murder could only charge the prisoner with one count, and the charge on which Haigh was convicted was the murder of Mrs Durand-Deacon. A reminder on sourcing

It's especially important given the nature of the subject matter that all entries on this page are supported by at least one reliable source. Where the entry relates to a notable conviction that has its own article on Wikipedia, that can be linked to. But where it does not, a proper inline citation based on a specific reliable source ought to be included. That is not optional. This is not a page for speculation, or for repeating things discussed on social media. I've added {{citation needed}} tags to the offending entries, and intend to clear them out soon unless proper sources can be provided. MichaelMaggs (talk) 12:58, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

You've deleted many that have sources. Even if the source is not ideal, adding a tag might be more appropriate. For those entries with WP articles, these are very unlikely to be breaches of WP:BLP and sources ought to be readily available from the original article. I'd strongly suggest a staged approach - that you reinstate everything and start again by deleting only those entries that have no sources and no WP article. Thanks. @MichaelMaggs:, @Martinevans123: MichaelMaggs has actually just deleted every single entry for the "United Kingdom" section, which seems a bit strange since most of them were referenced to a reliable source and now there is no entries in the United Kingdom section at all!
