Ambiguous title

Is the list restricted to the FSA & Co.? I would like to add the two L-39 Albatros captured in early 2013 by Jaysh al-Islam, as they are opposed to the government too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LlegóelBigotee (talk • contribs) 17:57, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

These have since been captured by IS, which has its own article. (They have since been destroyed, and reported as MiGs, though the Oryx blog gave an excellent explanation of why they were really L-39s, involving the fact that all planes are flagged up by default on the SAA system as L-39s until corrected to another setting.) I wondered about this too, but as Jaysh Al-Islam no longer have the L-39s, it is debatable whether we should list them at all. If we do, we should only write that they previously had them. Btw, IS still has one L-39 (listed as an MiG on its own page, though) and several MiGs that are currently inoperational but deemed possibly fixable by that group by external military experts. I found the entries. Considering what you said about every warplane getting automatically branded as a MiG, my suggestion for Daesh's own article would be...

1) Add the Albatros and explain that they were previously captured and operated by Jaysh al-Islam and it is unknown if Daesh has plans to use them or if they have been destroyed.

2) Add these several MiGs in thair hands, even if they are not airworthy atm. LlegóelBigotee (talk) 17:51, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
