Talk:List of mayors of Montreal

Jean-Louis Beaudry

edit

While doing some research in a separate area, I came upon the following article in the Albany (New York) Evening Journal from 1878:

It may not be generally known that the present Mayor of Montreal is the same gentleman as the Rev. Louis N. Boudrye, Chaplain of the Fifth Regiment of New York Cavalry during our civil war. He was also for a time stationed in this city as a preacher in one of the Methodist churches. He is author of a volume of four hundred pages entitled "Historic Records," of the same regiment.

This gives rise to a couple of questions regarding this wikipedia entry.

1. Is this article accurate when it says that the Mayor of Montreal in 1877-1878 was Jean-Louis Beaudry?

2. Were Jean-Louis Beaudry and Louis N. Boudrye the same person?

3. Is it likely the Jean-Louis Beaudry career as mayor would have stretched over a 24 year period (1862-1865, 1877-1878, 1881-1884)?

Like I said, this is not my area of expertise, but hopefully this information may be of some assistance to one of the editors of this article.
