• Reply - Per WP:POORLY and WP:IDEALSTUB, it is permissible for me to add information to an article without a table if I do not have the skill set to add it to the table. I have done this at Outline in Color as well as many List of pipeline accidents in the United States articles, which were lists before I started splitting them. Users have told me that if I do not want to create a table for music album chart listings, that I am welcome to add the lines as text. As history has shown, if the links are on the article (and not only on the talk page), the listings will more than likely be added to the table sooner or later. Per WP:RCD, "When you find a passage in an article that is biased, inaccurate, or unsourced the best practice is to improve it if you can rather than deleting salvageable text". --Jax 0677 (talk) 22:31, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

Cams and investigations for the entry of June 10, 2021

I added a sentence about cams and investigations, and it was deleted with the comment "unnecessary." I am OK with the deletion, but I added the sentence because late in the same month, an entry talks about an investigation, and another entry talks about a lack of knowledge about whether body cam video exists. I used a new citation from ABC 13 (Houston), an online news article. I recommend we keep my sentence and my new citation. My sentence, "Three videos captured the alleged events, a police officer body cam, a police vehicle dash cam, and a high school cam, and the Texas Rangers are leading an investigation." In fact, the three videos reportedly exist, I should have written, since that is what the police officer reports in the press conference in the new citation from ABC 13. By the way, the police officer at the press conference explains that he is leading an investigation of whether or not Fulshear Police Department procedures were followed, but he also says the Texas Rangers are leading another investigation.

I also note this current entire entry in the row for June 10; "An officer pulled over Elmore after he ran a stop sign and attempted to arrest him for a drug warrant out of Virginia. The police reported that Elmore shoved the officer, went back into his vehicle, and attempted to drive away. The officer tried to grab Elmore out of the vehicle and then shot him, later reporting that he was afraid of being dragged by the vehicle." It cites the Houston PBS online article. Suggestions: "An officer pulled over Elmore after he ran a stop sign and attempted to arrest him for a drug warrant out of Virginia, according to the police officer speaking at a press conference. The police reported that Elmore shoved the officer, went back into his vehicle, and attempted to drive away. The officer reportedly tried to grab Elmore out of the vehicle and then shot him, later reporting that he was afraid of being dragged by the vehicle."

@TravelerEditorRealChanger: I deleted that because it is out-of-scope of this article, which is about killings by law enforcement. The number of cameras which captured the event, who is leading the subsequent investigation, who the family has retained as a lawyer, the opinions of local politicians, and so forth, goes beyond a "description" of the killing. If the entry said, "bodycam video showed...", then great. These killings often spin out into full Wikipedia articles, where those sorts of details are appropriate.
