Manhattan Island
editI'm not sure "Manhattan" belongs on this list (Islands of New York seems a more appropriate location), but have fixed the link anyway. JimVC3 (talk) 17:56, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Criteria for inclusion
editWhat are the criteria for including an island in this list?
- The lead paragrah says this is a list of major island groups, but not all islands are part of a group.
- Is there a lower limit to size (area), below which islands are not included in the list?
- Do we include only natural islands, or should partially (e.g., Alameda, California) or completely (e.g., Treasure Island, California) man-made islands also be included? The bridges between Oakland and Alameda are so short that I don't think most people even think of Alameda as an island.
- I have a hard time thinking of the southern Antilles, especially Trinidad and Tobago, as being in North America. Is this because some of the other Antilles are closer to the USA? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Peter Chastain (talk • contribs) 15:48, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
