Title

There has to be a better way to title this...ResMar 02:51, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps it should be renamed something like "Geologically created new islands" since the current title ("New islands") potentially implies the inclusion of man-made islands, such as those off the shores of Dubai. WolRon (talk) 05:50, 30 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

How about Island formation? - Floydian τ ¢ 17:42, 2 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Floydian: Hey- are you still interested in this? I'm think that "New Island" on Dom João de Castro Bank that existed in the 1720's should be included on this list. Why not have a list of all new islands that date to the Holocene? If that's too much, how about all new islands during the course of recorded human history? Another one: Sandy Island (Pitcairn Islands) Geographyinitiative (talk) 20:47, 31 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

It sounds like this was an island for a period in 1650. Geographyinitiative (talk) 01:33, 8 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

It should certainly be renamed with removal of "new". In order to allow adding older-than-20th-century islands in a later stage, an alternative title could be List of islands by year of formation. Marcocapelle (talk) 04:51, 18 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
We should reflect the content as it stands, not expect this sparsely-edited article to be rescoped in the future (and re-moves are cheap). * Pppery * it has begun... 01:43, 23 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
