Top Scores

these scores don't seem accurate - why are skaters who have multiple scores in the top 10 only listed once? for example the top men's SP scores should be yuzuru hanyu a few times but he's only listed as #1. There are two parts – the top absolute best scores is what you are describing, where Yuzuru is indeed listed multiple times. compulsory figures program

List is missing best scores in compulsory figures (men and ladies single) which was one of the 3 segments until WCh 1990. 213.149.61.226 (talk) 12:59, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

This article is only for records under the ISU Judging System which was implemented in 2004. Since compulsory figures ended in 1990, they was never included in the ISU Judging System and as such no records for them exist under the system. The scores under 6.0 system were completely different and can't be compared to modern scores, so this article makes no attempt at such speculation. I'm not sure if any record lists exist for 6.0 system, but if you find some info, feel free to mention below, or expand on the 6.0 system article. Thanks, 15zulu (talk) 00:52, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

Separate page for juniors?

Because this page is rather large I am considering a change where I would move the junior lists to a new separate page. Maybe under a name List of highest junior scores in figure skating.

How does that sound?

Olympic Athletes from Russia

I noticed that some of the OAR athletes have Russian flags. If they competed in 2018 Pyeongchang, shouldn't they have the Olympic flag? Samuel.farrell31 (talk) 21:35, 23 February 2018 (UTC)

The majority of scores by Russian athletes on the list were achieved at other events so the question only applies to a dozen or so results. The majority of this article is sourced by ISU statistics pages where the athletes are listed as RUS even for scores achieved at the 2018 Winter Olympics. If this article was a list of Olympic scores, then OAR would be expected. But since article is of ISU scores, then ISU record lists are used... I can see both sides, but it seems like listing nation as listed in the official record books is path of least resistance... 15zulu (talk) 00:42, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

+5 / -5 GOE

Because of the introduction of the +5 / -5 GOE, ISU has decided that all statistics starts from zero for the season 2018/19 and all previous statistics will become historical.

Does anyone have any suggestions what should we do with the old stats here? Should we include them on the Historical best scores section? And if so how many of the scores should we include? Maybe TOP 10 scores? The problem could be that if we do this then the page would become really large.

Other possibility would be to create a new page with a title List of highest historical scores in figure skating. Then we could create a new page where there would be only new scores.

Any other suggestions?

Concern on highest personal best scores

The ISU compiles and publishes the relevant information on their website in case of the total score, but not of the short program and free skating score. Then the lists on short program and free skating scores would be original research, which is not allowed here by a wikipedia policy. I'd like to have opinions from others. Preparation for featured list class

As discussed and proposed on the talk page of the current highest scores list, the section about miscellaneous records and highest element scores has been removed from this list to stay on topic and keep the article at reasonable length. In case that a separate article about element records is desired, the content of the removed section can be restored from this version.

To meet the latest requirements of Wikipedia's Manual of Style regarding accessibility and sorting, new templates have been adapted for all tables. You can find the documentation of their correct usage here:

• {{Figure skating record progression}}

Each table is now sourced either by an official ISU document or a list from SkatingScores.com. The latter has passed a previous source review for FL class already, so it should count as reliable. The article has been re-structured to avoid identical sub-section headings, which mess up anchor-links from other articles. The images have been reduced in number and formatted as well, including alt-texts which are mandatory for FL class.

With a clean-up of the lead section and some short introductions for the sub-sections, this stand-alone list should be ready for a FL nomination. Henni147 (talk) 18:32, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
