Highest grossing animated films by year

I've been putting together a list from 1937 to 2014, with multiple sources, but still I have 11 years that I can't find a movie for (47, 49,52,54,56, 57, 58, 60, 62, 65, 74), If someone knows sources for this years, please help me complete the list, and keep in mind that re-releases of Disney movies don't count

Inflation Adjusted Gross Receipts

Well, this article does center around a genre (animation) that has such a large scope, in terms of history, and it would help to present what films would actually be on the list if inflation was taken into account. ~ Jedi94 20:12, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

There's a basic algorithm for adjusting the figures (an editor brought it up in a discussion complaining about the misleading grosses of 3D films I think it was). It's less complicated than you might think, but it does need to be properly sourced. -- Horkana (talk) 11:02, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

It needs about $2 millions to get in Top 10 and as for expanding, we can't expand it yet, according to BOM [1], beyond the Top 10 we have just a few more movies with less than a million, so at this point we don't have enough material to expand the list. DCF94 (talk) 22:55, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Frozen was re-released as in the sing-a-long version in the United Kingdom for the Weekend of Nov 30th and is still playing in theaters this weekend. The discrepancy in the earnings numbers was resolved on the Wiki page for highest grossing movies https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_films and will likely be returned to $1.276 billion due to an accounting error on BOM regarding exchange rates between the USD and the UK Pound for the Nov 30 total. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:List_of_highest-grossing_films#Why_FROZEN_total_dropped._USD-Pound_exchange_rate I cannot edit this page, so this is for information purposes only Telewski (talk) 22:24, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Studios

I don't think adding a studio section on the lists is a good idea, this page is concentrating on which is the highest grossing animated film, not what studio produced (if we add the studio, should we add who directed too?), that kind information you can find on the film's own page, not to mention the style, it looks ugly adding a section that attracts the attention from the film. The best thing would be to add a sentence before every list mentioning which studio is the most represented on the giving list. DCF94 (talk) 21:03, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

I agree. There is a lot of information we could add (studios/directors/stars etc) but it detracts from the overall goal of the article: to record the highest-grossing animated films. We used to have these columns at List of highest-grossing films but we removed them because it was a lot of superfluous information which didn't tell us a whole lot about the films. The aim of these articles is to record the different metrics we have for success; there may be something interesting to be said about the studios or directors but it can usually be covered by a paragraph in the lede or section introductions. Personally I think the charts are more useful when they only include essential information i.e. grosses, years, ranks etc. Betty Logan (talk) 19:30, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

FINALLY

Finally we have a Top 20 franchises and film series! I can't belive I was so clueless about the new Tarzan movie, granted, it wasen't a well-known big shot movie, but still. And before someone says something, YES! it does count as an entry for the list, it's not a film series, but both are part of the Tarzan franchise because both films are adapted from the same book. Tarzan & the sonw queen are a public domain so has no legal franchise backing it up, anyone can do whatever they feel like with the content of the books. IT IS NOT THE SAME FRANCHISE

Then how on the Highest grossing franchises and film series, in the James Bond series, they added Never Say Never Again and Casino Royale besides the EON series? And the two Tarzan films at least come from the same storyline as in the book. Frozen is barely inspired from The Snow Queen story, as it says on it's wiki page. Casino Royale and Never Say Never Again are both official adaptations: Casino Royale (67) is still based on the Fleming book even though it's a comedy, and Never Say Never Again is based on Thunderball. Tarzan & frozen the hunchback of notre dome & many others are Public_domain James bond is not. If you do that the Pixar universe makes more sense and we not going to put that on. The only sure series is Hotel Transylvania, a series needs to have a total close to $300 million to get on the list, because of the Winnie the Pooh and Dragon Ball series, I don't know if the SpongeBob sequel will make enough to get on the list and I honestly doubt that Shaun the Sheep will make enough for the Wallace and Gromit series to get on. One other thing that might be a problem is the new Dragon Ball film, we still don't know the total of the series but if the new movie makes as good as Battle of Gods, it might get very close to the Top 20 DCF94 (talk) 15:17, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

I was I was just says these cause these are the only series I can see make $300 million in the next few years other then peanuts (which got 6 million) finding nemo ( which got 936millon in the first one) & I do doubt that I top cat will.
