MPAA Ratings. Go American or go global? edit

This list is a mess in several different ways and has been tagged for almost a year. In particular it has been tagged as with {{Globalize}} (and WP:OR) because MPAA and TVPG ratings only apply in the United States. Something needs to be done but it might be worth considering if this list should differentiate itself by being made more specific and Americanized instead of being globalized. (The US box office figures would need to be added though.)

WP:FILMRATINGS are not normally included in film articles, but in an Americanized article that looked at the (North American, USA and Canada) domestic box office it might make sense to keep the ratings. Also if this list is to be made more specific it should more clearly define what "adult" is supposed to mean. TV-14 and PG-13 are not adult, teenagers do not get to vote and are rarely considered adults. -- 109.79.175.77 (talk) 00:20, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

The problem is that the scope of the article is the result of WP:Original research by the editor who created it. This is all an improper WP:CONTENTFORK of List of highest-grossing animated films with arbitrary WP:AMERICENTRIC criteria that the editor came up with themself. As a result, the page is a complete mess. We would be better off deleting it or redirecting it somewhere. TompaDompa (talk) 12:28, 8 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't want to see good faith efforts go to waste but I've no love for poorly defined unmaintainable list articles either. I would not oppose deletion. -- 109.77.194.30 (talk) 15:21, 17 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
