Vishu is not a harvest festival. Onam is. nuh uh

Eid al Adha?!!

edit

Um, how is Eid al Adha a harvest festival. The Muslim calendar is purely lunar, so it has nothing to do with solar seasons, and hence nothing to do with harvests. --80.227.87.110 (talk) 21:18, 11 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I would think it's at least indirectly related to the Harvest bounty - even if that motivated the marriage of nobility to hold their wedding feast during that time, which then led to the annual fest.

Ysolo is a hoax

edit

An anonymous user added Ysolo in July 2012 ([1]) but I believe it is spurious. I have been unable to find any reliable source (including Albanian Wikipedia) that mentions any similar festival.

Curiously, there is now a real mountain, on Ceres (dwarf planet), Ysolo Mons, named after this spurious festival. But the festival itself is imaginary and I will shortly delete it if a reliable pre-2012 source is not produced. —Mark Dominus (talk) 18:23, 24 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

This Tweet from an Albanian journalist also questions the existence of the Ysolo festival. Verbcatcher (talk) 19:21, 24 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
I have removed it. It can be added back if any evidence comes to light. If that happens, I will eat my hat. —Mark Dominus (talk) 14:48, 25 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Update: I just received email from USGS that they agree with my assessment and that they are changing the name of the mountain to Yamor Mons. —Mark Dominus (talk) 17:37, 7 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Timoleague

edit

The Timoleague harvest festival is just a harvest festival event that takes place in the town of Timoleague, inclusion of it in this article overstates it’s significance. This article seems incredibly poorly researched and referenced. Should it be flagged as such? 78.18.218.216 (talk) 15:19, 6 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
