Hopefully this wont be deleted, i have tried to add in all hyperlinks to the areas but many of the actual gangs do not have their own articles. The list is no longer on the internet, like the London gangs lists the sources removed them (i.e. Evening Times, Evening Standard) although they still may exist where people have copied them into their own websites.

Thats what there called - i have added all the relevant internal links where possible OSGSSS (talk) 13:25, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Some of the names on here are purely historical - I doubt the Easterhouse Skinheads are still causing trouble to anyone these days: most of them are either dead, in jail or in a retirement home. Furthermore, the "Y[oung]Carmyle Tahiti" are probably the top brass by now. As for "The Mounty" the spoilt middle-class scions of Mount Vernon do not scare anyone - apart possibly from themselves.

Not maintainable

edit

Of the 160 edits since the article was created, 145 have been by anonymous IPs, almost all of which was vandalism. The other 15 edits were mainly reverts, but of only a few of these edits. I have reverted the article back to essentially its original version. This will probably also have undone some good edits, for which my apologies, but I cannot check any edits, since the link to one referenced source has succumbed to bitrot, while the only other source, a map with an M height of 3 pixels for the legend, is not readable. My conclusion is that this article, a magnet for vandalism, is not maintainable.  --Lambiam 00:13, 28 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. It's a mess. I went ahead and restored it back to the version you did. I see if I can find a project to take ownership of this article. PDCook (talk) 22:14, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Similar restoration today. Ben MacDui 07:46, 11 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed move

edit

This list is now several years out-of-date, the references are dead links and although protecting the page has cut down on the volume of additional unsourced material, no new sourced material has been provided. I propose moving the page to Gangs of Glasgow, keeping only the lead, removing the entire list itself, and merging in some of the material from the relevant section of Gangs in the United Kingdom and from Glasgow razor gangs, which would mean we had a reasonably sourced article of modest size. As it stands the list lacks both topicality and notability. Ben MacDui 16:43, 25 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

I request that the name of Y. Shaws Team be changed to Y. Shaws Tongs as it is the correct name for the gang mentioned in this section. I know this information to be accurate and true as I am a resident of Pollokshaws and I was also a member of said gang in my younger days therefore it would be logical to update false information for true information. Parkhouse is not a gang in Greater Pollok

edit

Parkhouse does not have a local gang. The area of Parkhouse sits between three areas (Darnley, South Nitshill & Barrhead) each with their own gang. Graffiti from all 3 of the nearby gangs is visible in Parkhouse but there's nothing about any specific Parkhouse gang. Anybody from Parkhouse who is gang-affiliated is more likely to be part of Y. Southie or Darnley Mad Squad. JXN1990 (talk) 18:53, 8 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
