This is a very useful page but a lot of the names used are aquarium trade names and are often forms of the main type. There are a number of examples in this list but I noticed particularly Echinodorus and Hygrophila. As part of the Wikiplants project I am revising a lot of the aquatic plants on Wikipedia but it is difficult to link some of them here. Hermeswiki
I agree, there are several names in the list that are actually synonyms (in addition to those mentioned above, Cryptocoryne is another case in point), some plants (like Aglaonema) are not useable as aquarium plants at all (although they are indeed sold as that very often, but they die after having been immersed for some time), and the list is far from complete, of course.
