This page should mention how Germany aquired these colonies.--59.167.63.121 12:07, 2 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Caribbean island? edit

There seems to be a red dot on a Caribbean island on the map -- not mentioned in the Americas section...

There was a colony of Brandenburg-Prussia on Saint Thomas, see the German article St. Thomas. Kusma (討論) 06:17, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Information Please edit

1. What are the Hanauish Indies? 2. When was Botswana controlled by the Germans as a colony? This is the first I've ever heard of it. 76.235.173.233 (talk) 16:36, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Stop Editing on Asia edit

There is some user who keeps adding things to Asia. Germany had no asian colonies. Further attempts to edit will result in a warning to the user. Germany only had colonies in Africa and Europe, so I don't know how Asia got in there

Germans had a concession in China, and a colony in New Guinea, Marshal Islands, Carolines, and Solomon Islands. Lost the colonies in 1920 see Versailles Treaty. --Auntieruth55 (talk) 18:27, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Habsburg Monarchy colonies edit

The List of dominant sovereign states and their servient territories was deleted (with comments like "we already have all the information in the proper articles") and so now I don't found any article containing information on the Habsburg/Austria-Hungary colonies. I added this section here, because of Holy Roman Empire connection, but maybe it is better placed in some Habsburg/Austria-Hungary article? Alinor (talk) 12:57, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Maybe Habsburg Monarchy colonies? Alinor (talk) 12:58, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Formatting issue breaking the EDIT links edit

This article appears to have some formatting issue that I can't identify by looking at the raw text, causing the edit link to break and appear as large text up against the section titles. Can anyone fix this? 71.231.105.148 (talk) 20:47, 9 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Wait, nevermind, it was the spacing on the '='s in the titles. Looks fixed now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.231.105.148 (talk) 20:58, 9 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Inconsistent spacing in headers doesn't cause any problems in rendering. The mentioned problem with edit section links occurs in many articles lately, and is solved by purging the page. Making any edit also does that (even clicking "save" without changing anything). See WP:VPT#Edit section links in article for similar reports. SiBr4 (talk) 21:11, 9 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

German Caribbean edit

"The German Caribbean was colonised briefly in the nineteenth century." The phrase "German Caribbean" links to the the "German Caribbean" disambiguation page. But that page is about Caribbeans of German descent, and says nothing about German colonies. I don't know whether there is an article which describes German colonies in the Caribbean, so I can't fix it. But in any case, this link is misleading in its current form, and I've removed it for now. Omc (talk) 00:12, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
