The setting of a movie and the filming location of a movie are two different concepts. Though quite often the setting of a movie is the same as the filming location (that is, the movie is actually filmed where it is supposed to take place,) for various reasons (usually budget) a production company may use one location as a stand-in for another location. For instance, someone put Lethal Weapon 3 on this list because parts of it were filmed in the Tampa area, however in these scenes the Tampa area was being used as a stand-in for the Los Angeles area, so I took Lethal Weapon 3 off the list. In order for a film to qualify as being set in Tampa, Tampa must be the setting for the story. Please make sure at least part of the actual story of a movie takes place in Tampa before including it in this list. Thank you. Mmyers1976 (talk) 20:35, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

UPDATE: I removed several other films where Tampa area was a filming location, but served as a stand-in or substitute location for another place that was the actual setting of the film. I also removed the Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk video games as this is a list of FILMS, not all media set in Tampa. There are still a couple movies that I can't be sure, but don't know whether they were actually set in Tampa instead of being just filmed there:

   Black Like Me
   A Guy Named Joe
