I don't know if you have seen the Central Asian and Southern Caucasus Film Festivals Confederation. There are two additional links there as well. They are not "international" in the global sense, but they have several country-members. I guess the same is true for European Film Awards and the Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou, which I added to the list, but now I think this was a mistake. Should we maybe make a list of "Regional film festivals", or does "International" refer to such multi-national cases too? Hoverfish Talk 22:36, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

...I feel I need to add something here. Something I noticed about the List of international film festivals is that is only lists film festivals with the word "international" in the title. So the Bangkok International Film Festival is on the list, but the World Film Festival of Bangkok is not. And neither is the Cannes Film Festival. Maybe the original intent was to make it a disambiguation page? I would suggest the "international" list and the List of film festivals be merged somehow - whatever format is deemed the most useful. All film festivals, by their nature, are usually international, in that they usually show films from all over the world. — WiseKwai 16:35, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes, we should add all internationals, even if the title doesn't include the word per se. But my question is about some regional festivals, like the Pan African or the European. Are they also considered internation, though they include only some countries? Hoverfish Talk 16:53, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

I have placed the merger tags. The suggestion at WP:MM is to wait a couple of weeks before making the move, so it can be thoroughly discussed. I am proposing that this article be merged into the List of film festivals, but that the new page would be modeled on the content here. Instead of merely providing a string of links to more links and lists, the aim would be to concisely capture the world's more famous and notable film festivals. "See also" links would be included to point to the continental lists, some of which are quite lengthy, such as Film festivals in North and Central America or Film festivals in Europe, and have many smaller, not-as-notable festivals. — WiseKwai 20:14, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

It will be like moving the content from here to there, because the original content of film festivals will be completely overlapped. The way FayssalF is tabulating with additional info, where "international" is just one attribute, the title will be more correct for the content. I hope he agrees with the merge. Notable?

The link was removed because the film fesitval is not notable enough to have an article about itself. That seems to be the procedure on this list, so that the list doesn't contail spam or become an indiscriminate collection of information. Themfromspace (talk) 20:29, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Sure. The list has to be somehow discriminate and since even a one-time college film festival could get a website for verification there have to be some standards applied here. Themfromspace (talk) 21:30, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Sources from the "Notes" section

We should include the source for each statement in the "Notes" section, for each festival.
