Sorting tables edit

I've just been through and formatted recent additions using {{sortname}}, for consistency with previous, but this doesn't stop the "Dr"s filing before the "Professor"s when we sort on first column for name. The only way round this I think would be to use "data-sort-value" for each entry (from looking at Help:Sorting#Specifying_a_sort_key_for_a_cell). It looks tedious to do them all but I might come back and do so. Ah, as a quick fudge I might add a "Professor ..." sort value for the ones who aren't, so they all file alike - quicker than changing the small minority of non-professors. Done - fixed the earlier few decades properly, and bodged to sort all non-profs as profs in 2010s. Before starting the 2020s list I suggest that we need to think through what formatting will work best to display and sort these women. PamD 10:50, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Does anyone know how to add a total box at the end of the table? Many thanks! Srsval (talk) 14:37, 29 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
