My previous edit
I just wanted to explain my last edit in more detail as I hit the enter button too soon. I wanted to say that neither Kelsey's nor Montana's are defunct. They actually haven't ever operated in the USA, as they are both Canadian chains. I apologize for abruptly ending the explanation on the edit history page. Apology for misinformation
I didn't check before I removed Montana's from the list of defunct restaurants in the USA. I've reverted my edit. XboxGamer22408 (talk) 23:19, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
Structure of list
Currently, the list has (arbitrary) headings "A–M" and "N–Z". Perhaps creating some sections for specific U.S. states would be more helpful? ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:29, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- Actually, I am going to be hold here and create a section for Oregon, per the discussion above. Discussion still welcome. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:34, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- Seems my restructure has been reverted. (shrug) ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:36, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- Well someone cam along and just wholesale removed the list of Oregon restaurants, so I thought it best to return the article to the way it was for now since that seems to indicate there is no consensus one way or the other. Maybe if the whole article was reorganised by state of founding that would be better. That can be done over time in someone's sandbox and then moved. - Yeah, I'm not sure why the Oregon restaurants were removed. I thought the subsection was helpful and would support seeing similar subsections for other U.S. states. Only issue is, some restaurants may span state borders... ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:42, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- Well there could be a "National" heading or just list them under the state where they were founded. Lard Almighty (talk) 15:50, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- Sure! Well, I'll let you and others decide if the Oregon subsection should be restored. I find the A-M/N-Z organization arbitrary and unhelpful. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:54, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

I've restored the Oregon subsection and added a subsection for New York as well. The same should be done for other U.S. states! I'll see if I can expand the list further in a bit, mostly via Category:Defunct restaurants in the United States. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:08, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- + Maryland + Massachusetts + Pennsylvania + Texas ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:51, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
