Changes to table

edit

I was looking at this page as part of the AfD for County Route 236 (Onondaga County, New York) and suggest that table be modified in the following way:

  • Combine the two length columns into a single column "Length in Miles (km)" with numbers like "7.84 (12.62)".
  • The Formed and Removed columns are only used for CR 105 so the columns could be removed and replaced with a comment in the notes.
  • Add a new column for a thumbnail map like the one that appears on the County Route 236 (Onondaga County, New York) page.
  • Remove the links in the name column that don't lead to an expanded article (largely the link to state roads).

Combining these changes should leave us with a reasonably sized table and improve the quality of the page especially if the introduction was expanded to include things like why routes are transferred to state routes and vice versa but I do not want to do anything without consensus and I also figured that someone local to the area might enjoy the work.

Most of these suggestions go against project standards for lists of routes. There is no direction for or against adding maps to each row, but maps generally make tables like this larger and not "reasonably sized". –Fredddie 22:23, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
No problem. Happy for things to stay as they are. The idea of adding maps was to have sufficient information on this page so that there is generally no need to create pages for the original routes which then get an AfD. Gusfriend (talk) 22:53, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
It would be possible to create an interactive map highlighting each county road. I'll see what I can do. –Fredddie 23:56, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
