Australia edit

This list is generally terrible but Australia is very badly formatted, some sort of bad markdown or something idfk... We should get someone with extra time to come in here and fix the whole thing, it's an important page and not a very long one either. Also make it easier to edit the table, editors have bad conventions when it comes to stuff like this. -Language Bꙮi Language Boi (talk) 22:55, 24 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Mauritius $10Tn GDP edit

Mauritius, per its current numbers, has a debt of $200Bn USD and a Debt-to-GDP % of 2.00%, which would give it a GDP of approximately 10 trillion dollars, putting it roughly on par with China. Could someone with the proper statistical know-how please find a source with the correct data and fix this? I tried to search for it myself but there are an unreasonably large number of conflicting reports that I do not have the time to sift through. The problem to sort this table edit

I'm just now in the process to make this table sortable for its main column.

I thought all those missing "Format price" entries would mess it up. But even properly formatted entries are not sorted well, because it seems that the list is sorted according to the leading numbers and not according to million/billion/trillion first.

I think it is better to factorize out the "million" and leave the values in the column plain. Manorainjan 18:53, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not correct table edit

the table rappresents the public debt not the external debt . 5.90.185.136 (talk) 11:28, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Isreal edit

why is Israel not included here? 2601:84:8B02:B160:80E9:400:4E0C:2542 (talk) 23:25, 12 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Serbia mistake edit

Something is wrong with Serbia debt per capita. There are 6,9 million people living in Serbia, so 38,6 billion debt can not translate to 37845 debt per capita. It should be around 5,6k. Maybe there are similar mistakes here also? 87.116.135.24 (talk) 09:07, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yes, that's true. Serbian debt per capita is obviously wrong. 178.221.215.153 (talk) 20:08, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

What's happening? edit

The list is incorrect in a lot of points! Uk has a higher debt than Japan, Ireland has a 500% debt on gdp and that would be an absurd record, Ireland has only 45%! Many other things are incorrect . Reading this list I thought Japan had solved its debt problem in like a year, but no it's top of the list 82.163.32.166 (talk) 15:49, 6 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sorting in the table is incorrect edit

When using the little arrow icons in the table header is used to sort tables per column, if there are rows have numbers followed by million or billion, example: 930 million and 600 billion, the sorting puts the row w8th 930 million. I think the rows should have the full numbers without text, or the sorting logic has to be smarter. Tnkpre (talk) 11:50, 10 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Algeria's external debt edit

Algeria's external debt is less than 10 billion not 80 billion dollars. The link provided doesn't add up, it leads to Singapore's... 197.204.127.1 (talk) 08:57, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

% of GDP calculation edit

If I understand it correctly, then the "% of GDP" should be the country's debt / the country's GDP; however, it states that the UK has a debt of $9T and a % of GDP of 96.5, which would put its GDP at over $9T. Am I missing something, or were incorrect numbers used, since current estimates put it's GDP at around $3.2T? CrazyPengion (talk) 20:10, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

There has apparently been quite a lot of vandalism to this article during March 2024, affecting the figures for France, Ireland, UK, and possibly others. This will need to be carefully corrected. Ehrenkater (talk) 20:35, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Looking at the most used source (https://web.archive.org/web/20190317104350/https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2079rank.html) it seems that most of "31 December 2017 est." has been changed to 2016 in the article. CrazyPengion (talk) 17:16, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
There is continuing vandalism and the whole table is suspect and needs to be carefully reviewed.---Ehrenkater (talk)
