Tried to expand this and include sourcing. I gather we mostly want to limit this to people whose Buddhism is/was notable, correct?--T. Anthony 11:34, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

People need to be notable to be included on this list, but their conversion does not have to be notable. For example, a famous actor whose conversion and Buddhism has nothing to do with his work would qualify for inclusion, as it is still relevant to his life. Living people

However, for living people, the citation must be to a source in which they self-identify as Buddhist. Simply having a third party report that they have is not sufficient. See WP:BLPCAT for details. Yworo (talk) 01:31, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Order of listings

I don't seem to see any order to the listings here. They don't seem either chronological by birth or alphabetic by last name. Presumably they should be ordered by last name, since we don't always have birthdates for subjects. Yworo (talk) 01:32, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

I've fixed the listing order to alphabetic by family name, but also noticed that this list seems to extensively duplicate List of Buddists and propose that the two lists be merged. Yworo (talk) 19:50, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

David Bowie
