CO2 emissions mistakes?

edit

When I sort by CO2 some small capacity plants come near the top - is there a mistake? Chidgk1 (talk) 06:01, 13 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Kind of, it starts with the largest under 1,000,000 first going all the way down to zero and then goes to the actual largest values and goes all the way down to 1,000,000. There is no error in the data, however I do not know why it is sorting wrong or how to fix it. User:OrangeRye 12:45, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

The same problem happens when sorting by annual generation. User:OrangeRye 17:48, 14 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

The problem is caused by the commas. I don't know if there is a way to keep the commas and have it sort correctly. User:OrangeRye 19:40, 21 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

I suggest the column should be in kilotonnes with no commas - there is no way they are accurate to nearest tonne Chidgk1 (talk) 14:37, 7 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sort problem

edit

The "Annual generation" column does not sort properly. Looks like lexicographic rather than numeric, probably due to the inclusion of the parenthetical years. Anyone know a good fix for this? Dicklyon (talk) 22:20, 1 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Should there be an entry for when each plant opened?

edit

This seems like very relevant information that a reader may want to know. I'm sure it could be difficult to find, but I would be willing to go through and add them. I doubt I could do it in one go, so it would be piecemeal for a while. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 16:54, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Actually most state lists like List of power stations in Indiana have opening dates, and EIA has a list of all stations at https://www.eia.gov/electricity/data/eia860m/ which includes operating year (easy to filter by coal and then sort alphabetically), so that shouldn't be very much work to add at all! Agree this would be relevant so thanks for your work here! Reywas92Talk 17:13, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
