Where'd the 563,662 figure for El Paso come from? According to the El Paso entry (at least, as of last July), as well as Google (then and now), El Paso's 2000 population was 679,622. --Mike Schiraldi 4 July 2005 00:33 (UTC)

I realize this post is two years old, but it was never answered. You are confusing the population of the city of El Paso with the population of the metropolitan area of El Paso. Two different numbers. --Holderca1 talk 18:06, 9 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why are all the city names linked as external links that point back to Wikipedia? Why not just link internally to the article? Phasmatisnox 18:40, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Where is New Deal, Texas pop 1708? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pogo-Pogo-Pogo (talkcontribs) 15:00, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

According to the article on New Deal, the population is 708. If you look at #1041, New Deal is listed. Griffinofwales (talk) 20:48, 27 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

lead

The following is the list of Texas' most populous incorporated cities and unincorporated Census Designated Places. Is that true? This looks like a list of all incorporate cities and unincorporated CDPs listed by population. Am I incorrect or should this be rephrased? Griffinofwales (talk) 20:49, 27 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Long Table

edit

This list is quite long and unwieldy - What do you think of splitting it into 3 tables (>10k, 1-10k, <1k)? --Qetuth (talk) 02:51, 22 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Wichita Falls

Houston

edit

Everyone before trying to change the population of Houston please go here to see why it's different than it's original number http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/City-wins-census-appeal-count-adjusted-4087372.php — Preceding unsigned comment added by Danny20111993 (talkcontribs) 22:30, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in List of cities in Texas by population

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of cities in Texas by population's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "factfinder2.census.gov":

  • From Mansfield, Texas: http://factfinder2.census.gov/faces/tableservices/jsf/pages/productview.xhtml?pid=DEC_10_DP_DPDP1
  • From Municipalities of Puerto Rico: http://factfinder2.census.gov/faces/tableservices/jsf/pages/productview.xhtml?pid=DEC_10_SF1_QTP10&prodType=table
  • From El Paso, Texas: "American FactFinder". Factfinder2.census.gov. Retrieved 2012-05-21.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 06:12, 24 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Shortening

edit

Why was this entry so hugely shortened? Is anyone planning to expand the list to include all 1200 or so municipalities and 600 or so CDP's? Inkan1969 (talk) 02:01, 11 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Updating

edit

I just wanted to tell everyone, that if you're planning on changing any of the information on the list please make sure you're using the data from http://factfinder.census.gov/faces/tableservices/jsf/pages/productview.xhtml?src=bkmk . The reason why is because this table is using the information directly from this data sheet. So any changes done to the table that aren't the same as the website provided will be undone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Danny20111993 (talkcontribs) 19:54, 20 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

point of this list?

edit

So, what is the point of this list? It has 67 most populous cities, while List of cities in Texas has 100 most populous. It lists all cities, and then has a table with more entries the "main" city population article... 212.50.203.198 (talk) 03:51, 20 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

I don't know if it makes a point but this "cities by population" list has three most populous CDP's and 64 most populous cities... And, how could it? CDP is not a city, if I know anything. 85.217.20.204 (talk) 04:39, 7 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Fixed minor things

edit

The census was done in 2010 and we're barely on 2015 census estimate data. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Danny20111993 (talkcontribs) 04:57, 28 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
