Page size

This article currently has 445,538 bytes of wiki-markup, which makes it far too big. What's the best way to split it? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:15, 26 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • My suggestion is to keep only the latest census info, the 2010 info is not really needed here. If the 2010 column is removed, then we also don't need the "per annum" column. Maybe this will result in a reasonable reduction in size. -- P 1 9 9   21:05, 1 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Barangays may very well be integral to municipalities but that doesn't mean the amount of them in each municipality needs to be detailed here. That information can be contained in the article for the respective municipalities. Onetwothreeip (talk) 05:58, 14 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

As main contributor to the large table back then, I agree with P199 that the 2010 population and per annum growth rate columns be removed. I removed such columns. Although I personally think the barangay count column should be preserved. Instead, I would suggest that the PSGC column be also removed as it is merely an identifier used by the Philippine Statistics Authority and not useful for comparative purposes. Besides, PSGC changes might not be updated like the current version of the table still having both Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental under the now defunct Negros Island Region (180000000). –Sanglahi86 (talk) 09:57, 14 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I agree that the PSGC code is also not useful here. Regards, -- P 1 9 9   14:12, 14 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello (just passed by hehe). The total page size as of my writing is 257,071 bytes. At least a major improvement. My recent change is the bypassing of redirects for municipalities now titled under <cityname> only (per updated WP:MOSPHIL). It only generates unwanted additional character sizes if WP:PIPELINKS are unnecessarily used (for municipalities now under <cityname> only format). Bali (and maybe others too)?

edit

I see that Bali province's cities are missing from the list. According to Denpasar, it is capital of Bali, is classified as "City of Denpasar" and has population of about 900,000. So it would rank 6th on the list. Any good reason for not having it on the list? I could not think of any. 86.115.119.234 (talk) 13:58, 17 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Uhh, because this is a list of cities and municipalities in the Philippines? —hueman1 (talk contributions) 14:02, 17 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
