Talk:List of bus routes in the Wellington Region

Route list out of date edit

Just a quick note: many of the bus routes in the Porirua area were changed in February 2011, with a change in route numbers. Information about the operator can be found at http://www.manacoach.co.nz/timetables/index.html and timetables can be found at http://metlink.org.nz/

Confirmed. The article refers to routes 98 and 99 but not 97, while the Metlink site refers to route 97 but not 98 or 99. I am not familiar with Wellington, NZ, so can only place an {{outdated}} template on the page, which I will do next. Thisisnotatest (talk) 06:50, 16 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

sp "Te Marua - Plataeu Road" edit

"Plataeu" = PLATEAU ?GinAndChronically (talk) 00:54, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Confirmed and fixed. Thisisnotatest (talk) 06:56, 16 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Accessibility of this page edit

This page previously used color as the sole indicator of whether a route had infrequent service and/or was a peak hour only route. I've added text to make that information clear.

The exception was the CTY route, from which I removed the peak only coloring. I'm unable to find information about that route; however, if it runs Mon-Sun then it's not a peak hour only route.

Added OR template to CTY route designation edit

I was unable to find any source designating the CitySights bus route as "CTY". In response, I added the {{OR}} template. If the route does indeed use "CTY" please respond here, add a citation, and remove the template. If this is something somebody just made up to save space, then I suggest that instead you merge columns 1 and 2 of that particular row and use the content "CitySights", that is:

Route Route name Start Destinations End Operator Days of operation Notes
...
236 Whitby (Navigation Drive) Porirua Station Police College, Oak Avenue, Spinnaker Drive Whitby - Navigation Drive Mana Coach Services Mon-Fri
CitySights Wellington i-Site Wellington i-SITE Visitor Centre, Te Papa Wellington Waterfront, Courtenay Place, The Embassy & St James, Basin Reserve, Wellington Zoo, Basin Reserve, Willis Street, Cable Car Museum, ZEALANDIA Karori Sanctuary, Wellington Botanic Garden, Parliament Precinct, Central Lambton Quay Wellington i-Site InterCity Group Mon-Sun Commercially Operated, 9:30am to 4:30am Circle Route

New bus network in 2018 edit

I have added all the new bus routes to come in under the Metlink "On Our Way" new bus network on July 15, 2018. Hutt Valley routes are already in operation, but the rest of the region is still on the old network.

I will come back and delete all the old Wellington City routes (I've left them in place for the time being) in July.

Any corrections/cleanups by other people are of course also welcome.

  • As the new routes are not operating yet, I advise you to comment them out, then uncomment them once they come into effect on July 15th. Ajf773 (talk) 23:36, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • The problem is that everything is coming in in stages, I've tried to make it clear on the page which ones are in effect now --- I will comment out the Wellington City ones, and keep the rest because most of them are now in service. Albeetle (talk) 00:00, 28 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • I decided to keep the new routes visible as well, since if a person comes looking for a list of wellington bus routes (e.g. from the Metlink WP page) they are probably interested in the new routes too; I've moved the old routes up to the top though and tried to make the comments around them clear regarding which ones are current and which ones are future. • They might be interested, but Wikipedia isn't the venue for posting bus route changes. Add them on July 15. Ajf773 (talk) 03:49, 28 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
