Would the Chernobyl disaster be considered a building or structure fire?

edit

Its not listed and was defiantly on of the most notable explosions and fires of the 20th century, should it be added?217.44.22.131 (talk) 09:59, 13 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello madam/sir,

I think it should be added, after all it was a big disaster Egghead2000 (talk) 23:52, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have reformatted the 2010–present list in order to more explicitly show links that were hidden. The links are now at the beginning of each entry, and I bolded them in the same way that has been done in the lists at List of rail accidents. This highlights links and shows readers the more notable entries, i.e. ones that have articles. This may be controversial, so I'll wait a few days before continuing to bold links in the other sections. Akld guy (talk) 20:57, 13 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Apparently there were no objections, so I'm continuing to bold links to fire articles. There is a school of thought among some editors that lists like this should contain only notable events, ie. in this case, fires that have their own articles. The list is currently a dumping ground, with many non-notable fires listed without references. Akld guy (talk) 09:09, 18 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

MOVE bombing

edit

Should the MOVE fire in Philadelphia on May 13, 1985 be included? 11 people killed, 61 homes destroyed, 250+ people left homeless? https://www.vox.com/the-highlight/2019/8/8/20747198/philadelphia-bombing-1985-move https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOVE — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.235.29.209 (talk) 05:22, 7 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello madam/sir,

You can add it to the list. Egghead2000 (talk) 23:53, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Notability

edit

Some items listed may not be notable enough, especially if it is not a prominent or historical structure and occurred in the modern era. I propose we limit submissions to exceptionally large casualties, really important buildings or those already with Wikipedia articles. Borgenland (talk) 15:21, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
