Yards Brewing Company is the only brewery in Philly! Downington could be considered suburban, but Easton is 60 miles away, not even in the real metro area. Nodding Head is in Philly, but it is a brewpub, not a brewery (and the best one in Philly at that). Not sure about some of the others, but I know Heavyweight, and it is in Jersey, not even the same state! NTK02:03, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hold up... the title of the article is "Breweries in Philadelphia." But the article says "vicinity of Philadelphia." Vicinity is an unprecise word. If we're going to include breweries that aren't in the city, we should use the census-defined Philadelphia metropolitan area, aka the Delaware Valley. Note that this would include some counties in South Jersey. This is probably the most neutral way. Passdoubt | Talk04:33, 26 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article could use a section on the historical breweries in Philadelphia. I understand we have a rich brewing history. [Christian] Schmidt's comes to mind. I've run out of tuits this morning, or I'd start Googling. --J Clear (talk) 12:24, 14 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
