Omission
editFragma's 2000 number 1 single 'Toca's Miracle' was omitted from the countdown. In 2000 it sold 530,742[1] which would have placed it at #74 in the countdown. A remixed version in 2008 which made #16 on the singles chart would have added an estimated 40,000 copies to the single's tally —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.197.183.166 (talk) 15:53, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
- Indeed – there has been discussion about this, and I'm thinking of adding a line to the article mentioning this. Richard3120 (talk) 18:51, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
Amazingly, neither 'Crazy in Love' by Beyonce nor 'Hey Ya' by Outkast, both of which have sold well over a million, are on this list. I'm beginning to think that it is not very accurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 51.6.73.95 (talk • contribs) 12:07, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
- 51.6.73.95:
Why do you say they've sold over a million? The OCC have never announced them as million-sellers. Richard3120 (talk) 14:42, 16 May 2019 (UTC)Ah, I understand now... you are going by the fact that they have both been certified double platinum in the UK, which equates to 1.2 million equivalent sales. But these certifications have come recently during the streaming era, not during the 2000–2009 time period that this list covers. Many of the songs on this list will effectively have "sold" more since 2014 than before it, thanks to the way the chart is now compiled (very few real sales, lots of streaming and YouTube views). Noughties
editOh, do we have to? I hate the term noughties. What about when we need a new page for the 21 noughties? Btljs (talk) 16:53, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
- I've changed it back to 2000s (decade) which matches the main article on the decade and is consistent with the page: List of best-selling singles of the 2000s (century) in the United Kingdom. The only other option I can think of is "from 2000 to 2009 inclusive" which is hardly an improvement. Btljs (talk) 00:32, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Featured list?
editThere is no way this should be featured list status as it stands: the list is uncited, the sales figures are unverified, and the edits of 8 September 2012 by a Beyoncé fan surreptitiously adding a Beyoncé song to the list has remained unchanged ever since. In any case, this is the list as revealed on Radio 1 during 29–31 December, and doesn't include the update for the last week of the year which was subsequently published in Music Week in January 2010 (which also contained errors). This list needs revising completely – I'll have a go at it in the coming weeks, and I think the sales figures need to be removed. Richard3120 (talk) 13:19, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

List of best-selling singles of the 2000s (decade) in the United Kingdom → List of best-selling singles of the 2000s in the United Kingdom – The current title is really bizarre. What else could 2000s possibly refer to? None of the lists for other decades has (decade) in its title. 161.72.97.71 (talk) 10:02, 27 May 2016 (UTC) — relisted by user:SSTflyer at 05:34, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
- Because there is also List of best-selling singles of the 2000s (century) in the United Kingdom, covering 2000—present, so the disambiguation is needed. You would have to argue that the latter article be moved back to List of best-selling singles of the 21st century in the United Kingdom and put in the requested move as a pair. Richard3120 (talk) 13:42, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose per Richard (I spotted List of best-selling singles of the 2000s (century) in the United Kingdom after initially supporting). Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 18:08, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
- Support. This can be solved by moving the other article to List of best-selling singles of the 21st century in the United Kingdom and adding hat notes to both articles for anyone that's confused.--Cúchullain t/c 14:07, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose You are proposing a move back. The problem is that 21st Century ≠ 2000s (century) as it starts in 2001 not 2000 (and hence none of the charts will work). I know it's a bit cumbersome but this is the solution we came to - please don't let's have to go through it all again. The other solution was 'noughties' which to my mind is much worse. Btljs (talk) 19:33, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. This is the only way to distinguish the period 2000–2009 known as the 2000s from the period 2000–2099 known as the 2000s. anemoneprojectors 21:19, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
