As useless as most Lists

This collection is neither comprehensive nor representative. Compare:

• http://beautifulguitars.net/guitar-makers-a-z/ — incomplete (no Washburn or Aslin Dane, for example), but includes many established luthieries
• https://www.guitar-list.com/allgear — bulked up by manufacturers of amps/effects/parts, but extensive: includes not only Aslin Dane but Switch Music

Some of the included names ARE NOT manufacturers, but rather brand names that entirely outsource production.

Wikipedia is not a directory - you need to keep to manufacturers who already have their own Wikipedia article - as per the list that your edits keep being reverted to - Arjayay (talk) 19:54, 27 September 2018 (UTC)

The problem with that is there are many pages where wikipedia is most definitely a directory and the guidelines that you reference are not consistently adhered to. I suggest renaming it to "List of notable bass guitar manufacturers", so that contributors can understand what is accepted. Maproom (talk) 21:31, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
