This should really be 'List of Yorkshire dales', if it purports to list valleys going by the generic term 'dale' within Yorkshire. Otherwise it is simply a reference to a tract of land which encompasses the most celebrated dales and makes no more sense than 'List of Lake District'. cheers Geopersona (talk) 07:24, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Actually, as the headnote explains, it does not list dales in all of Yorkshire. It lists the dales in the Yorkshire Dales.--Mhockey (talk) 21:03, 15 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
In that case, to make sense, it should be 'List of dales in the Yorkshire Dales'. 07:54, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
I propose the title be changed as I've suggested immediately above - I shall be BOLD and do so shortly unless other editors want to make valid objections. There is a page titled Yorkshire Dales in which the upland area which goes by that name is described. 'Yorkshire Dales' simply isn't the collection of dales in that area; that collection is 'Dales of the Yorkshire Dales'. In similar vein, I wouldn't compile an article titled 'List of Brecon Beacons'; it just wouldn't make sense. However a 'List of hills in the Brecon Beacons' would.
