We have two similar lists

One lists by nationality, one by kills. They should be renamed for reduced ambiguity. Kevlar67 01:11, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

I have suggested that List of World War I flying aces by nationality be merged into this article. With a sortable table, there is no need for multiple lists. After the merge, this article should be moved to List of World War I flying aces. Vegaswikian 02:11, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

I dont think this is very useful to transfer all names. It should be either way sorted by Air Service and then downwards with victories. If you put all in one sorted by victory you will sit your whole life on this and do not find easily pilot names. Especially the aces that scored lower like 5 or 6 kills. Other thing is that German victories and allied victories were different. For german service there could only be one victory for one pilot in allied services there were shared victories possible which deforms kind of the victory list if all were put in one file. Nevertheless we could have these Air Service lists on one page to avoid having more than one htm page.[Edit:Ah ok i just realized there is a button to sort by air service. Most list place Billy Bishop as number 3 on list of WWI aces as his 72 kills, while disputed have been proved to a greater extent then the kills of Mick Mannock, who is usually listed at 61 kills and not 73. I think this disputed number may just be an attempt to place a British pilot above a Canadian one in the rankings and the article should be adjusted. 156.34.72.45 21:16, 22 October 2007 (UTC)Allan M.

Cutoff

Why if the cut-off 8 here while List of World War I flying aces by nationality lists many fives ? Even there the French list seems to end early and avoid people like Adolphe Pegoud. Tintin 01:54, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Isnt snoopy a flying ace?

• The list will have stopped at 8 because its hard work to transferr it and the work is not completed yet. Since you seem to know pilots with 5 confirmed kills upwards were credited as an ace in WWI. If you feel french aces are missing participate in the work or make a list so we can add them. Anyway i will check what i can add in the next 3 weeks (also french). Yeah, both lists are still incomplete. This one just happens to be less complete. If possible, just fill in the names and credited victories for now. We can fill in the other details later! FranksValli (talk) 21:47, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Add him! We should add anyone considered an "ace" (five or more kills) - the list is just very incomplete. I think we should put up a notice at the top saying "This list is incomplete, please add to it!". I'll see what I can do. FranksValli (talk) 19:02, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
