Llyfr Llwyd o Lynsabon

Should we mention, perhaps in a "popular culture" section, the "Grey Book of Glynsabon", a spoof historic Welsh book which was a running gag in the "Peter Simple" column of the "Daily Telegraph"?---Ehrenkater (talk) 19:27, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps a better title might be "List of Welsh historic documents"?---Ehrenkater (talk) 10:37, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Agree, the article is just a list and even states it in the lead. I have boldly moved it. DankJae 11:03, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Treachery of the Blue Books would appear to qualify for inclusion. What do you think?---Ehrenkater (talk) 10:39, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

I think this speaks to the existentialist cirsis this article is facing. Under its current title "historical documents" the reports would be one of the most well known and culturally important on the list. However, looking at the contents of the list, I think that the page is more concerned with "Welsh literature" and medieval literature at that. It's a shame no one has responded with a reason for these non-inclusions/removal but I would support the reports inclusion. Cymrogogoch (talk) 11:00, 21 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think, like all list articles, this needs to begin with a treatment as a list in some reliable source. It is sorely lacking under its purported subject, and what is here is really covered in other articles such as Medieval Welsh literature. What are we trying to tell the reader here? De Excidio et Conquestu Britanniae

Reading the summary it seems strange that this venerable work by Gildas isn't listed. While it is a Latin work (as are others on the list) and written by a Welshman of the Hen Ogledd it is as important a document in the history of Wales and Welsh writing as any other.

Is there a reason for it being omitted? Cymrogogoch (talk) 16:37, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
