merger proposal (closed)

Hey, I just came across this list-article which has been in place for a long time and which has been updated very recently. This is duplicative to List of Federal courthouses in the United States#Arizona however. I propose merger from here to there (checking that all info here including recent edits is captured properly), and for this to be redirected to there. Oh I see this must have been accidentally left by the editor of the nationwide list when they decided to develop the nationwide list differently. (Pinging: @BD2412 and Ktr101:). --doncram 20:58, 14 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose, this page transcludes into List of Federal courthouses in the United States; if these pages were merged, it would take a prohibitively long time for the complete list to load. This is a technical limitation. Furthermore, the individual pages for all fifty states work exactly the same way. If you were to change this page to a redirect, it would merely show up as an error on the master list stating that the page was redirecting to itself. bd2412 T 22:27, 14 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I did not understand that at all. Now I see that the nationwide list is a list of state-level transclusions, and that there is use of "onlyinclude" and "onlyinclude/" tags around the table here, and I gather that identifies what from this page is included by transclusion into the nationwide list. But then, is this the page where the county and other courthouses in Arizona should be tabulated? "Transclusion" was the word I was searching for, at Draft talk:List of courthouses in the United States. Let's continue there.

And this merger proposal is resolved: no, thanks. --doncram 20:05, 16 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Flagstaff

Federal Building

I added a photo of the Flagstaff building. It is used by the district court, even though the building is not managed by the GSA. Although the building was originally built in 1915, it hasn't always been used by the court. I'm not even sure it's called the Federal Courthouse; The page at Railroad_Addition_Historic_District_(Flagstaff,_Arizona) calls it Babbitt's Garage. Across the street there is an old Federal Building that was definitely used as a post office. Was this also used as a courthouse in the past? kennethaw88talk 08:09, 18 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Based on this article, among other evidence, it seems like the Flagstaff building was never a government building, but is just partially leased by the district court. Accordingly, I have removed it from the article. kennethaw88talk 23:29, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
